Getting the right spare part to the right location at the right time is an important part of supporting airport operations around the world.
To gain a better understanding of the logistics behind global spare parts deliveries, members of the ITW GSE Spare Parts team recently visited our logistics partner, Blue Water Shipping, at Billund Airport.
The visit provided valuable insight into the workflows, handling procedures, and coordination required to ship spare parts efficiently to customers across different regions and time zones.
By seeing the operation firsthand, the team gained a deeper appreciation of the processes that take place between receiving an order and delivering parts to airports, airlines, and ground handlers worldwide. Understanding these logistics helps strengthen collaboration with our partners and supports our ongoing focus on customer service and spare parts availability.
During the visit, the team also had the opportunity to spot one of the ITW GSE 7400 eGPUs operating at Billund Airport in its distinctive yellow airport colour — a familiar sight for anyone visiting the airport.
At ITW GSE, supporting our customers extends beyond manufacturing equipment. It also includes understanding and continuously improving the processes that help keep critical ground support equipment operating reliably every day.
