In collaboration with Bouygues Batiment International, ITW GSE is going to take part in the development of Ivato Airport at Madagascar. The project combines new green technology and enhanced quality in terms of safety and service. The new and greener terminal is set to open early 2020. It is a BOT project – (Build – Operate – Transfer) where Bouygues is not only building the airport, but they are also a share holder and will be in charge of operation of the airport as well.
For the first time, Ivato Airport will get passenger boarding bridges (from Tianda). And those will be equipped with ITW GSE 2400 Power Coil – a smart two-in-one solution that holds a 400 Hz power unit + a cable coil in one enclosure. An aesthetic solution indeed, but also practical since the enclosure protects the cable from dust, hot temperatures and other weather conditions. As the power coil is a pure electrical unit, this will contribute to the reduction of the CO2 emissions – and of the general noise level as well.
In the presence of M. BIZID Elyes, Electrical Design Manager at Bouygues and his colleague M. OLLIER Jean Philippe who manages the building on-site, the Power Coil was examined, tested and accepted.
Did you know?
That Magagascar is the 4th biggest island in the world?
And that Ivato International Airport is also known by plenty of other names like: Madagascar Airport, Tana Airport and Antananarivo International Airport.
Passenger numbers around 1 mio.
