Celebrating Josie’s contributions at ITW GSE

After two productive months with our US production team, we recently said goodbye to our Process Engineering Intern, Josie P.

During her 4-months internship, Josie made a valuable contribution to both our production documentation and engineering development work. After spending time alongside the production team, she completed more than 100 pages of detailed work instructions for the ITW GSE 3500 PCA 150V production line. This gave her first-hand insight into how the units are produced while helping ensure that the individual processes were clearly documented.

Josie then took on a mechanical engineering project to develop a prototype for testing the durability of wires, cables, and hoses. She designed the CAD parts and assemblies, created the wiring diagrams and code, and produced the components using 3D printing. Her work resulted in a fully functioning prototype that can support the future development of a larger-scale testing solution.

To complete the project, Josie also prepared detailed documentation covering the prototype’s design, materials, procedures, and recommendations for further development.

Reflecting on her time with us, Josie said:

“I learned so much about production, efficiency, process, design, and prototyping. It has been a great opportunity to expand my skills, and I have gained knowledge that I will use in the future. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to intern at ITW GSE this summer.”

We have been very happy to have Josie as part of the team. Her curiosity, commitment, and ability to turn ideas into practical solutions made her a great addition to ITW GSE.

On her final day, the team gathered for lunch to celebrate her achievements and thank her for all her hard work.

We wish Josie every success as she continues her studies and takes the next steps in her engineering career.
