ITW GSE and Schiphol Airport Sign Landmark Agreement to Advance Sustainable Airside Operations

Framework Agreement Covers Supply of Fully Electric PCA Equipment Supporting Long-Term Environmental Goals to Reduce CO2.

Schiphol, The Netherlands, 25th October 2025 ITW GSE, a global leader in ground support equipment, is proud to announce the signing of a long-term framework agreement with Royal Schiphol Group for the supply of fully electric Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) units and an advanced automatic hose management system.

This strategic partnership marks a major milestone in Schiphol’s continued push toward greener, quieter, and more efficient airside operations. The agreement was signed at Schiphol Group’s main offices by board members and representatives from Royal Schiphol Group and Poul Elvstrøm, VP/GM at ITW GSE, and José Manuel de las Heras, Senior Sales & Business Development Manager at ITW GSE. The event was also attended by David Feuga (Global Sales Director), Lars Vestergaard (Sales Director Europe), and Amit Gajadien (ITW GSE’s Dutch distributor) from Aviation GSE.

Future-Ready Equipment for a Future-Ready Airport

Under this agreement, ITW GSE will supply the ITW GSE 3500 PCA, a next-generation, fully electric pre-conditioned air unit with smart features such as Automated Aircraft Type Detection and integration with EcoGate, ITW GSE’s system of high-efficiency equipment that works together in a gate infrastructure platform.

The contract also includes the 3500 Air Coil – an advanced automatic hose management system – equipped with AirTight and KinkFree SuperHoses, an exclusive ITW GSE innovation designed to minimize energy loss and maximize ramp ergonomics. Together, the PCA and Air Coil ensure optimal heating and cooling of the aircraft cabin, enhancing passenger comfort while supporting efficient operations. This solution not only supports Schiphol’s sustainability goals by significantly reducing CO₂ and NOx emissions but also enhances working conditions for airside personnel thanks to low noise levels and lightweight, easy-to-handle equipment.

Flexibility and Scalability for Any Stand

The PCA and Air Coil units provided under this framework are highly modular, offering installation flexibility across any airport stand or gate layout. The equipment can be configured for fixed ground installation, trailer-mounted mobile solutions, or Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) mounting. This versatility ensures maximum operational flexibility while simplifying infrastructure planning and reducing long-term costs.

ITW GSE will serve as the General Contractor for the supply of PCA equipment and accessories. Installation and on-site integration will be carried out by a contractor nominated by the Schiphol Group, while start-up and commissioning will be supported locally in collaboration with ITW GSE’s Dutch distributor, Aviation GSE.

Supporting Schiphol’s Sustainability Vision

“This agreement goes beyond supplying equipment; it’s about empowering a vision. Schiphol’s commitment to sustainability is clear, and we’re proud that ITW GSE is part of that journey,” said José Manuel de las Heras, Senior Sales & Business Development Manager at ITW GSE. “Our PCA and Air Coil solutions are designed to future-proof airport operations while dramatically reducing environmental impact.”

The equipment delivered will directly support Schiphol’s aim to lower its environmental footprint by minimizing fossil fuel use and improving air quality and noise levels at the airport’s apron areas.

A Shared Commitment to Innovation and Responsibility

“At ITW GSE, we believe in engineering solutions that not only perform but also make a difference. This agreement with Schiphol is a powerful example of what can be achieved when innovation meets sustainability,” said Poul Elvstrøm, Vice President and General Manager of ITW GSE. “We are proud to support Schiphol in creating a cleaner and more efficient ground operation – and we look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration.”

The framework contract has a maximum duration of up to 15 years, and a total contract value of up to EUR 40 M.
