Supporting a New Milestone in Ultra-Long-Haul Aviation

A new benchmark for ultra-long-haul travel is taking shape as Qantas prepares to introduce its Airbus A350-1000 Ultra Long Range aircraft as part of Project Sunrise.

The new aircraft recently completed an approximately 20-hour non-stop flight from Toulouse to Melbourne. Upon arrival at Melbourne Airport, it was supported on the ground by an ITW GSE 2400 Power Coil, providing reliable 400 Hz power while keeping the cable safely stored and the apron clear, supporting safer and more efficient ground operations.

The aircraft is designed to support Qantas’ plans for direct services connecting Australia’s east coast with destinations including London and New York. These routes will bring distant parts of the world closer together and mark an important development in ultra-long-haul aviation.

Together with our Australian partner, RATE, we are proud to play a small part in supporting this milestone and look forward to following the next chapter of Project Sunrise.
