More than aircraft power: 7400 eGPU adds AUX outlets

The battery capacity in an eGPU can do more than supply 400 Hz aircraft power. With new optional AUX outlets, the ITW GSE 7400 eGPU can also serve as a mobile power bank on the apron.

Airside operations do not always happen where electrical power is readily available. Remote stands, hangars and changing operational areas can all create a need for flexible access to power.

That is why ITW GSE is introducing AUX outlets as an option for the 90 kVA ITW GSE 7400 eGPU.

The additional outlets make it possible to use the energy stored in the eGPU battery for purposes beyond supplying 400 Hz power to an aircraft. In effect, the 7400 can become a mobile power bank – bringing stored electrical energy to where it is needed as part of the ground operation.

More flexibility from one battery-powered unit

The ITW GSE 7400 is designed as a battery-powered alternative to conventional ground power. Available in 90 kVA and 180 kVA versions, it can supply aircraft at gates, remote stands, hangars and other locations without fixed 400 Hz infrastructure.

With AUX outlets, the 90 kVA version gains another way to make use of its onboard battery capacity.

For airports, airlines and ground handlers, this adds a new dimension to the eGPU: it is not only a source of aircraft power, but a mobile source of electrical energy that can support more flexible airside operations.

The AUX outlets are available as an option on CE versions of the 90 kVA 7400 eGPU and must be specified when ordering, as the option cannot be retrofitted.

Battery power where the operation needs it

Electrification is not only about replacing diesel-powered equipment. It is also about making electrical energy available in the right place at the right time.

By combining aircraft ground power with the possibility of supplying power through AUX outlets, the 7400 eGPU offers another way to put battery capacity to work across the apron.

One battery. More ways to use the power.
