At Milan Bergamo Airport, the ITW GSE 7400 eGPU plays a central role in the airport’s sustainability programme.

The unit is flexible, easy to use, and ideal for remote gates and hangars, helping the airport save up to 120 tons of CO₂ per year compared to diesel-powered GPUs.

As part of its commitment to cleaner aviation, Milan Bergamo Airport has adopted ITW GSE’s battery-powered 7400 eGPU.

Replacing diesel-driven units has led to significant reductions in local emissions — up to 80% lower CO₂ output and over 120 tons of CO₂ saved annually.

The airport’s sustainability team highlights how the units not only reduce environmental impact but also improve working conditions through quieter operation and safer cable handling.

The ITW GSE 7400 eGPU

The ITW GSE 7400 eGPU is a battery-driven Ground Power Unit available in 90 kVA, 140 kVA, 180 kVA, and 28 VDC variants.

Built for reliability and flexibility, it delivers the same dependable 400 Hz or 28 VDC power as traditional GPUs — but with significantly reduced CO₂ emissions.

Cable doors and built-in safety features limit wear and tear on cables.

The unit’s mobility makes it especially effective for remote gates, hangars, and outfield operations where sustainable power is most needed.
